Each fall members of St. Paul’s travel to the Victory House loaded with chili donations and all the fixings for the Annual Chili Cook-off.
The team quickly goes to work heating chilies, baking corn bread and preparing fresh garden salad.
Once the residents gathered for dinner, the men at Victory House carefully taste chili after chili. While some preferred the spicy varieties, a few chose to try the more mild options. Not one chili was the same as another and made the choice that much harder. All residents finished with a favorite chili and a full stomach just in time to watch the Eagles and Phillies win that night.
Thank you to all who traveled with the group, prepare chili for the Victory House and support this service ministry through monetary or food donations. Your generosity is greatly appreciated!
The St. Paul’s soup kitchen team travels on the second Sunday of the month to Victory House.
